NIO’s first Denmark-based power swap station starts operation

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Mar. 6, NIO saw its first Denmark-based battery swap station go live in Slagelse, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) startup announced via its WeChat account.

Slagelse is in the western part of Zealand, Denmark, and is about 100 kilometers southwest of Copenhagen. Next to the E20 highway, the new station is able to provide convenient charging services for users traveling to and from Sweden, Norway, Germany, and the Netherlands, with its service reaches extending to five European countries.

The centrally located station brings NIO’s power swap station total to twelve throughout the continent.

In addition, the Chinese EV manufacturer has so far deployed 6 supercharging stations with 18 supercharging piles in Europe.

NIO also noted that through third-party charging agreements, its European drivers have been given access to over 388,000 chargers.

NIO is continuing to improve its power network construction to support a robust sales growth. As of Feb. 28, 2023, NIO had deployed 1,331 power swap stations (including 350 stations dedicated to expressway service), 1,261 supercharging stations with 6,385 supercharging piles, and 1,114 destination charging stations with 7,558 destination charging piles worldwide, according to a post on NIO’s WeChat account.

Among the aforesaid facilities, there were 11 power swap stations and 6 supercharging stations with 18 supercharging piles located outside of China.
